Here come the holidays!

Well into Fall and anticipating winter with the Holiday Season upon us!!! Fall, the season of the Lungs, is a dry season. When the lungs are more dry, allergies have a much better chance of developing and lingering. The lungs are paired with the large intestines.....dry Lungs means dry large intestines....I think you know where I’m “going” with that!

After Fall, winter sets in. Winter is typically a cold season- season of the Kidneys. Cold usually produces fluid in the body, which after the season of the Lungs can aggravate respiratory conditions such as asthma and bronchitis. Also, Fall/Winter are the seasons of celebration and often over indulging in tasty treats and drinks! These activities will contribute to dampness and often disrupt digestion and elimination...

Foods can be very effective in moistening when the body is dry and drying the body when too moist or damp. Neither condition is desirable for proper functioning of the body. So incorporating certain foods and indulging sparingly will help you get through the Holidays with little discomfort and still allow you to enjoy yourself!

Drying foods: Green Tea, Celery, Lemon, Horseradish, Pumpkin, Grapes, Lettuce, Seaweed, Turnips, Jasmine Tea, Anchovies Moistening Foods: Apples, Chicken, Eggs, Honey, Pineapple, Tomato, Asparagus, Mango, Peas, Watermelon, Pears, Yams This is a short list of foods that will help.

Now is the perfect time to schedule a few weekly Acupuncture treatments to boost your immune system and optimize your digestion so that on those occasions where you just want an extra cookie or glass of wine, your digestion will handle it and keep your system running smoothly,

allowing you to enjoy the Season!! A Votre Sante!!
